Check-ups

If you are registered patient and have not seen a GP in three years and are aged between 16 and 75 you have the right to be offered a general health check.  If you are aged over 75 years you have this right if you have not seen a GP in the previous 12 months.

Financial Advice

We have an embedded welfare advice advisor who offer a range of support for someone with money worries. If you are experiencing money worries, please speak to a member of staff in the surgery who will be able to refer you onto our advisor.  

Community Links Advisor

We have a full time Community Links Worker who offers social advice on getting back into employment, social clubs for both adults & children and can assist will a full range of mental health and wellbeing topics.  Please ask at reception for an appointment with our Community Links Worker if you feel you need help with any social aspect for yourself or family member.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a travel vaccination form at least 6 weeks prior to travelling. The travel vaccination form can be collected from the reception desk.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Travelling in Europe

If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
 

Treatment Room 

The Treatment Room is on the ground floor beside the main reception desk.  The Treatment Room Nurse is available from Monday to Friday for wound dressings, ear syringing etc

If you are  asked you to attend the Treatment Room, you must make an appointment at main reception downstairs.  You can also make an appointment for the treatment room by calling 0141 800 0601 between 9:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

When you are attending the Treatment Room, please remember to report to the main reception (downstairs) when you arrive, do not come to your GP surgery as you may miss your appointment.

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. We exist to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. We are a champion, guide and friend to anyone affected, giving individuals experiencing an eating disorder and their loved ones.

Anorexia Bulimia Care (or ABC)

This charity was established in 1989 and the aim is to offer personal, ongoing, emotional support and practical guidance for people struggling to recover from an eating disorder.
