Cwmtawe Medical Group uses a service called ‘AskMyGP’.
This service allows patients to request help from us online with the use of the internet or a smart phone.
It allows you to request email advice, telephone or face to face help.
Due to very high demand for our services and staff shortages, our current AskMyGP hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 12pm
For all urgent medical issues after the closing time, you will need to telephone the Surgery.
All routine requests after this time will be dealt with the next working day
Week Commencing 2nd January 2024
We are continuing to experience high levels of demand and unprecedented levels of staff sickness.
As a result, over this Christmas period there may be times we are unable to deal with some routine requests and have to operate an ‘urgent request’ only system. This is only so that we can deal with as many requests as possible and in a safe manner.
Please be patient with us at this time, the team are trying their best.
We can only apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but please note that any verbal or physical aggression to any staff will not be tolerated.
Welcome to Cwmtawe Medical Group
Cwmtawe Medical Group was formed from the merger of 3 practices: Clydach Primary Care Centre, Sway Rd and New Cross surgeries in 2018. We are a large training practice of 25,000 patients. We currently have a a mix of 12 partners, a salaried GP, 2 clinical pharmacists, 3 advanced practitioners, a paramedic practitioner, 2 minor illness nurses and an advanced physiotherapy practitioner. We frequently have GP registrars on rotation annually, these are the doctors of the future and the practice has a long history of nurturing the next generation of practitioners in the Swansea Valley.
There is a wide ranging variety of specialist skill mix amongst the clinicians ranging from Dermatology, Respiratory medicine, Diabetes, Sexual Health and Musculoskeletal medicine. And as part of the Cwmtawe cluster we are at the forefront of changing the face of primary care in Wales through the Transformation project.
In Clydach we operate out of a new purpose-built premises owned by Primary Health Properties, and our 2 surgeries in Morriston. The premises with attached community staff such as our district nursing and health visiting team. We aim to provide the highest standard of care possible.
