IMPORTANT UPDATED INFORMATION

COVID VACCINE UPDATE  

We have now successfully delivered the Covid vaccination program to all our patients within our Horsham Collaborative PCN (and more) held at the Blue Coats venue at Horsham Christs Hospital since December 2020 with Friday the 16th July being our last clinic.

We would like to thank all of the staff who have worked continuously either at the vaccine site or in the surgeries in enabling us to make this all possible for our patients, along with an amazing team of Volunteers, whilst still managing to keep surgery services running.

If you have still  not had your vaccine, there are various local walk in sites that will be able to help you, more information can be found on the Government websites National Bookings system for these locations.

As soon as we have guidance from NHS England we will be in touch with all our eligible patients on this next vaccination phase, please make sure that we have your correct contact details.

New Registrars at Courtyard Surgery

We are pleased to welcome Dr Hitesh Gadhia and Dr Saif Ali  as our new placement ST3 GP Registrars, they started training at Courtyard Surgery in August 2019. Dr Gadhia will be with us for 6 months and Dr Ali for 12 months.  Both will have the support of the full clinical and administrative team whilst at the surgery. 

Courtyard Surgery has been approved as a Training practice for GP registrars from the Mid Sussex GP Training Scheme.

Important Announcement

Following our announcement in 2017 regarding Riverside Surgery moving premises to Courtyard Surgery, this is no longer taking place and Riverside will be remaining at their current premises on Worthing Road.

As such, Courtyard Surgery will no longer be joining with Riverside Surgery. Although this is a change in the original plans, we have, as part of future proofing, 7 new rooms that will be for our patients. 

We are continuing all of the services that we currently offer and will be employing more doctors and other health care professionals to make the most of the additional capacity and strengthen our clinical team.

With more rooms and staff available, we anticipate improving our services with the capacity and ability to look after our patients.

We would like to thank you for your patience.

New Physician Associate at Courtyard Surgery

We are delighted to be welcoming a new healthcare professional to our primary care (GP) team.

Shannon Rosine is a US trained Physician Associate (PA) with considerable clinical experience, working in both emergency departments and a health centre linked with a correctional facility. Shannon is also a Teaching Fellow in Physician Associate Studies at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, training PAs for the future.

Supporting people with symptoms of long COVID

HEALTH CARE WORKERS

We have been advised by The CCG from the 24th January that they are now able to invite all health and care workers to book a vaccination at one of the six hospital-based vaccination sites across Sussex.

All you have to do is visit: https://www.sussexhealthandcare.uk/keepsussexsafe/sussex-covid-19-vaccination-programme/workforcevax/ (this link will open in a new window - popups must be allowed) and you will be able to access the booking systems for each of the hospital hubs. Please follow the steps on the page, when you or your team members are attending an appointment, including taking ID.

COVID VACCINE UPDATE-

We will let you know when it's your turn to have the vaccine

The Covid Vaccination clinics for our patients  from Courtyard, Southwater, Cowfold and Rudgwick surgeries are being held and organised by our Horsham Collaborative PCN at the local Horsham venue Christ's Hospital Bluecoat Sports Hall RH13 0YB, which has over 250 free parking spaces for our patients and is also a 5 minute walk from Christs Hospital train station.

Should you require transport to Christs Hospitals Venue please contact CT Sussex 01403 754206, this service is available to and from your home address and has Wheelchair access, alternatively patients can call West Sussex Community Hub (Covid) 033 022 27980 to find the nearest scheme contact.

We have now vaccinated the following groups:

  1. Residents in a care home for older adults as well  the Staff working in care homes for older adults 
  2. All those 80 years of age and over and Frontline health and social care workers 
  3. All those 75 years of age and over 
  4. All those 70 years of age and over clinically extremely vulnerable individuals (not including those under 16 years of age)  
  5. All those 65 years of age and over 
  6. Adults aged 16 to 65 years in an at-risk group 
  7. All those 60 years of age and over 
  8.  All those 55 years of age and over
  9. All those 50 years of age and over 

If you are in one of the above groups and have not received your vaccine, please contact the surgery to book an appointment at our local Horsham site, Christs Hospital.

Please call after 11am as our phone lines can be very busy in the mornings

All appointments after the 12th of February will have been given a date for the second  vaccination dose which will be at the same time as your first dose unless told otherwise. 

If your first dose appointment was prior to the 12th of February and you have not received a date for your 2nd dose, please contact the surgery to book an appointment.

We have visited over 100 of our House bound patients to keep them safe by given them the vaccine in their homes, administered by our teams from Courtyard, Southwater, Cowfold and Rudgwick surgeries.

WE ARE NOW CONTACTING  PATIENTS IN  AGE GROUPS 40 - 49 TO BOOK FOR THEIR VACCINE AT  THE CHRISTS HOSPITAL SITE

We are unable to move onto any other age or vulnerable groups  to vaccinate until we are advised by the Government to do so.

IF YOU HAVE SUFFERED AN ANAPHYLATIC REACTION OR CARRY AN EPIPEN, THE ADVICE IS NOT TO HAVE THE PFIZER/BIONTECH COVID VACCINE, YOU WILL BE CONTACTED TO HAVE THE OXFORD ASTRA ZENECA AS SOON AS WE HAVE RECEIVED SUPPLIES OF THESE VACCINES

Following the recent Government announcement, please see our response below:
Courtyard, Southwater, Cowfold and Rudgwick surgeries have carefully evaluated the risk profiles of the patients who received their 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Bluecoats Christ Hospital on the 16th of December 2020.
After careful review of the scientific data and weighing up the risks and benefits, we feel you should still receive your second dose of the vaccine as previously discussed and planned for the 6th of January 2021.
This information is only relevant to our patients who attended for their 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine on the 16th of December at Bluecoats Christ Hospital Horsham - RH13 0YB. 
If you have a friend or family member who attended our centre on the 16th December please can you make sure they are aware they still need to attend on the 6th of January 2021 as planned for their second dose of the vaccine.
We have been requesting for more supplies of the vaccines since the first dose was delivered to enable us to continue and vaccinate the remaining over 80-year-old patients but frustratingly we have not been supplied with any more at this time.
The AstraZeneca vaccine will be delivered to us from the week commencing 4th January 2021 and at this stage we will then call all remaining patients over the age of 80 who are awaiting their vaccination (please do not call the surgery as we do not have a confirmed delivery date, but please be assured we will contact you to book your appointment)

The NHS is now ready to deliver a vaccination programme for England so that those who need it most will be able to access vaccinations as soon as they are available.

A prioritisation list has been produced in order for the vaccine to be delivered to groups who will need it first. The NHS will contact you when you are eligible to receive the vaccine and provide you with information about location and date. We will contact you when it’s the right time to come forward, so please don’t contact the NHS to seek a vaccine before then.

· The vaccine will be given in order of priority to those at highest risk first.

· We will be in contact with you with information about where and when you will need to receive the vaccine.

· Please act on your invite when it comes, and make sure you attend your appointments when you arrange them.

 Priority Groups

1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers

2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers

3. all those 75 years of age and over

4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals (excluding pregnant women and those under 16)

5. all those 65 years of age and over

6. all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality

7. all those 60 years of age and over

8. all those 55 years of age and over

9. all those 50 years of age and over

10. rest of the population (priority to be determined)

COVID 19 VACCINE

Courtyard Surgery are currently putting together a plan on how we can deliver the new COVID vaccinations to our vulnerable patients, as you will have read in the press this may be mid-December, (as soon as we have more information, we will let you know) 
 
*** One of the criteria is there must be a separation from the normal FLU vaccination and the COVID vaccination of 7 days minimum. We want to ensure all our eligible patients can get the COVID vaccine when it becomes available so it's important to be up to date with your FLU vaccination beforehand ***
