Appointment System

Our Appointment System

Our appointment system allows you to book a routing face to face, video or telephone appointment with a doctor or nurse of your choice.

At times there may be a waiting period involved for booking a routine appointment.  If your appointment is urgent, or you feel you cannon reasonably wait until the first available appointment, you will be offered an emergency telephone appointment, on that day with our On Call Doctor or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.  They will call you back at some point during the course of the morning or afternoon that you call and will assess you initially over the phone. We ask that you make every effort to be available at all times to answer your phone while waiting on a call-back.  Sometimes it will be possible to deal with your problem over the phone but at other times then it may be necessary to arrange a face to face assessment, either on the same day or indeed at some future point, as dictated by the nature of your problem.

The On-Call clinicians are often exceptionally busy.  We would ask that if you feel you need an urgent same day telephone appointment that you call between the hours of 8.15 to 10.30am in the morning and 1.30pm to 3.30pm in the afternoon.  We are aware the phone lines can be busy at these times but we ask you to be patient, as phoning at these times allows us to arrange prompt assessment of those patients in most need.  The administrative staff will ask you for some details regarding the nature of your problem.  This information is treated with complete confidentiality and allows us to safely prioritise cases based on clinical need
