Our aim is to provide you with all the information you need to know on how to access appointments in the Surgery
Please keep this leaflet safe in case you need us.
Access and Location of Llynfi Surgery:
In Maesteg Town centre on Llynfi Road
Parking available on the road outside the surgery or free parking in large car park adjacent to the shops
Fully accessible for wheelchair users with all patient facilities on the ground floor. If you have any specific access needs, please let us know so we can help.

GP Training Practice
Llynfi Surgery is a training practice for future general practitioners and at times we have fully qualified doctors spending some time with us before going into practice on their own. We hope that you will consider these doctors as members of our practice.
Chronic Disease Monitoring and Medication reviews:
You will be notified via phone, letter or text when it is time for your review. If you believe you are overdue please contact a member of our reception team.

Family Planning and Smear clinics:
Family planning appointments can be accessed via Econsult or via telephoning the appointment line between 8.30 and 16.30 and our staff will text you a link to complete information needed
Smear clinics can be access by using my health online or via the telephone appointment line between 8.30 and 16.30, they can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance.
Bryn Surgery
We have a branch surgery located in Bryn next to the community center
From here we can dispense prescription medication to all residents in Bryn.
To make an appointment use the Llynfi surgery number but let the staff know you live in Bryn.

All the pharmacies in Maesteg provide excellent advice.
At Caerau Pharmacy – 01656 733335 - Jon has specialist training in particular illnesses and aims to see patients within 10 minutes of attending the shop. If the pharmacist there can't help you, he will liaise with us directly

How do I book an appointment?
Telephone or attend the surgery between 8.30am and 16.30pm (mornings are busiest) or log into Econsult from 08.00am.
The receptionist will ask you some information to help book you into the correct type of appointment.
For all nurse appointments, medication review and doctor follow up appointments you can phone between 8.30 and 16.30 and book up to 3 weeks in advance.
For routine appointments for new problems, you can phone between 8.30 and 11.00 for a same day appointment.
For Urgent problems where a same day response is needed, please call between 08.00 and 18.30
You can pre book a face-to-face appointments up to 3 weeks in advance – let the receptionist know this is what you want.
If you have a telephone appointment and a Face-to-Face appointment is wanted or needed this will be arranged at the time of the telephone call.
What is Econsult:
You can use Econsult from 08.00am until capacity is reached and we will contact you back by the end of the next working day

Family planning requests
Ordering Prescriptions:
You do not need to order early or over order.
You can order your prescriptions by:
- Putting your repeat slip through our letter box
- Calling the Prescription Hub: 01656 311010
Admin Queries:
If you need a sick note or have query that does not need an appointment, please telephone or attend the practice between 08.30 and 18.00 and the reception staff will be able to help you.
You can also ask for administrative help via Econsult available from 08.00am.
