At Lander Medical Practice Truro Health Park the doctors, nurses and staff take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.  The Lander Medical Practice has, at present, list size of 17,210 patients.  Each GP has their own patient list but should the need arise you are able to see another GP.  The GP's prefer to manage their own lists to provide good continuity of care.  The Lander Medical Practice is a training practice and we frequently have medical students who are on rotation, and qualified Doctors who are training to be a GP.

We offer many clinics for chronic disease care and also offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.  We encourage focus on self-management (where possible) and are happy to signpost to other organisations if this is what you require.

General Practice is becoming busier every year and we would like to make access to medical advice easy for our patients.  For some ailments you can actually be treated by your Pharmacist or local. Minor Injuries Unit.  We understand that it can be frustrating when you are not able to make an appointment when requested but can assure you that the Receptionist will try to fulfil your requirements.  If you are unable to attend an appointment that you have booked, please let us know.  We are then able to offer this appointment to another patient.

In addition to everything you need to know about the Practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information at the bottom of the page.

TRURO HEALTH PARK

The flagship Truro Health Park is located on the site of the former City Hospital on Infirmary Hill and houses 300 staff and will treat around 4,000 patients per week.

The facility provides purpose-built, state-of-the art facilities, bringing together a range of health and community services under one roof, many of them re-located from cramped, out-dated and inappropriate accommodation.

The co-location of the two Truro GP surgeries in one new building had been a local NHS priority for many years and the facility also brings together community services previously provided in The Leats, and community staff who were scattered across the city. By uniting all of these community services into one building, improved communication, easier patient access and the space to provide the existing and enhanced future services that are required can be provided.

The provision of this new state of the art facility through LIFT is consistent with the PCT’s strategic review and national policy guidelines, and is a positive step forward in providing enhanced health and social care facilities for the Truro community.

Services provided at the Health Park include:

• GP services
• a minor operating theatre
• family planning
• podiatry
• pharmacy
• health promotion
• speech and language therapy
• district nurses
• health visitors
• dental service

Building work began in March 2008 and the Centre opened to the first patients on 7th June 2010.
