Training Practice for GPs & Medical Students

Courtyard Surgery has been approved as a training practice for GP Registrars & Foundation Year GPs from the Mid Sussex GP training scheme as well as Students from the Brighton & Sussex Medical School.

Dr Brydie is accredited by HEKSS (Health Education Kent Surrey Sussex) to become GP a Trainer in addition to being a Programme Director for General Practice in Mid Sussex

Dr Matthew Greenwood and Dr Jo Skipp have also recently become accredited as Clinical training supervisors.
A GP Registrar is a fully qualified, experienced doctor who is completing a further 3 years specialist training in order to become a GP.

  • The GP Registrars will work as part of the practice team and we may have up to 2 GP Registrars at one time.
  • GP Registrars have daily surgeries (often with longer appointment times), undertake home visits and help with on-call doctor duties. Their placements with us vary in length, depending on their stage of training, from 4 months to over 12 months.
  • Patients may, on occasion, be asked whether they mind having their consultation videoed "video consultation" for assessment purposes and/or to complete patient satisfaction questionnaires.
  • These videos and assessments will always remain confidential and are strictly used only for the GP Registrar to be assessed by their GP Trainer and the HEKSS (Health Education Kent Surrey Sussex).
  • Your help with their training is always greatly appreciated but should you wish not to take part – please advise a member of our Reception Team.

Thank you for your help and support in anticipation! The GPs of the future are very grateful to you.
