To make an appointment with the Doctor
We operate a variety of different types of appointments including:
- GP telephone call back for:
- urgent problems requiring same day care
- routine problems for problems that are not urgent;
- GP face to face appointments bookable by patients
- Mobile phone texting facility for deaf / hard of hearing patients.
- Online appointment booking service for patients registered for online access
Our Reception staff have received training and use a clinical matrix, developed in conjunction with our clinicians, to ensure they ask the right questions to enable them to book you in with the correct health practitioner or direct you to the correct person to help. For this reason they will always ask you for a brief description of the reason you are calling. All staff are bound by confidentiality so you can be assured that anything you say to our staff remains confidential.
This on the day Urgent call back appointment system allows you to speak to a Doctor on the day you have a health need, and reduces the amount of time you have to wait for advice from a Doctor. The doctor will arrange for you to come into the surgery the same day if you need to be seen.
If you prefer a face to face appointment with your GP you will need to tell the Receptionist this when you call.

You may consult any of our doctors but for continuity of care it is best to stay with one doctor for a period of illness.
As a practice that provides training for doctors and medical students you may be offered an appointment with a doctor in training. It will be explained to you how closely they are being supervised when you make your appointment.
To make an appointment with the Nurse, Assistant Practitioner or Phlebotomist
Please ring our Reception on 01539 722660 to request an appointment with the Nurse, Assistant Practitioner or the Phlebotomist. If you are unsure of who you need to see a Patient Care Coordinator will be very happy to assist you.
Appointments Online
You are able to request a telephone call back from the Doctor on-line through the practice clinical software via the link at the top of this page. If you are interested in making your appointments this way, please come to reception and bring photographic confirmation, e.g. a passport or new type driving license, with you. The Patient Care Coordinator will initiate guidance, user ID and password.
Attending Appointments
Please "check in" for your appointment using the arrivals touch screens situated in the ground floor foyer and by the lift on the first floor. This lets the clinician know you have arrived. Once checked in just take a seat outside the doctor or nurse's room and they will call you in. The nurses & assistant practitioners usually consult from rooms to the left at the top of the stairs (right as you leave the lift) except for the INR clinic. The doctors, pharmacist, counsellor, INR clinic & medical students consult from rooms off the large waiting area to the right on the first floor.
If you are attending for minor surgery or a contraceptive device fitting, please take a seat in the nurse's waiting area.
