  • Private ADHD Assessments and shared care agreements
    • The shared care protocol currently in place between GP practices and the Community paediatric service is an NHS mechanism to allow easier access of families to medication. This mechanism is not currently accepted between GP services and private services. This means that Kingswood Surgery will NOT be taking on shared care prescribing from the private sector for all ADHD medication requests. This has been discussed in out multidisciplinary team meetings and all clinicians are in agreement with this.
    • If a patient has been diagnosed with ADHD in the private sector and wishes to be referred to NHS services we can facilitate this, however any prescribing and reviews for this will need to be done by the diagnosing specialty until they are seen by the NHS specialist.
