GP RECEPTIONIST VACANCY
Full time (30 - 37.5)
We are looking for a full time GP receptionists to join our friendly team at Dr McCulloch & Partners GP surgery.
You should have excellent organisational and communication skills and be IT literate. Experience of working in a GP surgery and use of EMIS and DOCMAN would be desirable but is not essential as full training will be given.
The role will involve will involve a variety of tasks including booking/cancelling appointments, dealing with patients over the telephone and face to face, dealing with requests for information and processing prescription requests. The role will also include a number of administrative duties including opening and sorting mail, filing documents, photocopying etc.
Your ability to work on your own, under pressure and as part of a team is essential.
The hours of work will be between 09.00 - 17.30. Salary will be dependent on experience.

Important Patient Alert: Beware of Scam Calls
We have been made aware of a scam targeting patients registered with local GP practices. A patient reported receiving a phone call with an automated message claiming to be from there GP Practice. The message asked the patient to go online to update their personal details, threatening that failure to do so could result in being removed from the practice list.
The call originated from the number 07448 046 976, which has been identified as a scam number, however, please be aware that other mobile numbers may also be used.
What You Should Do:
- Stay Alert: Be cautious of any unsolicited calls, texts, or emails asking for your personal details.
- Do Not Share Personal Information: GP practices will never ask for sensitive personal information in this manner.
- Verify Authenticity: If you are unsure about any communication claiming to be from your GP practice, contact us directly using our official phone number or email.
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive a similar call, you should report this to Police Scotland by calling 101.

PRESCRIPTION TURNAROUND TIMES
NHS Ayrshire and Arran has agreed to move to a standardised time frame for ordering of repeat prescriptions. Our clinicians prescribe and dispense around 9 million prescription items each year. This seven day turn around will ensure they have the required time to undertake necessary checks to ensure the safe prescribing and dispensing of your medicines.
We are asking for your support to do the following:
Please allow 5 days from initially ordering your repeat prescription to collecting your medication at your community pharmacy
Order all of your required prescriptions at the same time
If you are on regular medication for a long term condition ask your GP practice or community pharmacy if a serial (longer term) prescription would be suitable for you
Collecting Prescriptions from Pharmacy
Boots pharmacy, in Girvan Community Hospital, have asked us to advise our patients of the following message:
The pharmacy staff endeavour to have all prescriptions ready within FIVE WORKING DAYS. This allows them to ensure that they have all the items required for you and to prepare your prescription safely.
