Travel Information
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with your local travel clinic to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel.
Before we can administer travel vaccinations in the surgery you must have a travel assessment with a local travel clinic. Once you have had this assessment, please make an appointment with a nurse for your vaccinations.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Vaccines which are available from the NHS include:
- Polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab),
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A
- Cholera
These vaccines are free because they protect against diseases thought to represent the greatest risk to public health if they were brought into the country. For those vaccines which are available from the NHS, please arrange an appointment with one of our nurses (please note you must have already had a travel assessment and you must bring your paperwork with you to your appointment).
We are unable to recommend any particular travel clinic for you assessment however for further information you can contact:
