Appointments

GP and Nurse appointments can be booked by phoning the practice on 0131 536 9898. We offer telephone and face to face appointments with our GPs and the nurses run face to face clinics every day.

 Pharmacists

Following the introduction of the new GP contract in 2018, Pharmacists are now increasingly involved in the care of patients in General Practice - click on link for further information.   Pharmacy support

We have a Pharmacist working within our practice -  Alison Wallace (works Tuesdays and Fridays).  If you wish to speak to her directly please phone 0131 536 9898.

The doctors will endeavour to see someone the same day if they have an urgent problem. It is very important to ring early from 8am if you require an appointment on the same day.  It is not always possible to specify a particular doctor for urgent appointments.

It helps the receptionist to know the reason for a nurse appointment so that the correct time of day and length of appointment is given. If making an appointment for a blood test please make sure it is before 2.00pm as our lab van collects the samples around 2.20pm to take to the lab.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend and remember that each appointment is for one patient only.

Near Me Video Consultations

* PATIENT - CLICK HERE - , IF YOU SPOKEN TO A GP via TELEPHONE TRIAGE AND BEEN ASKED TO SIGN IN FOR A VIDEO CONSULTATION. *

We are now using Near Me Video Consultations. These are only available after telephone triage with a GP. Once you have spoken to the GP they may make a video consultation appointment for you.

Click on the above link approximately 10 minutes before your given appointment time to allow you to get connected. This will also allow the clinician to know you are waiting.

We always do our best to run to time but apologies if we are running late.

Click Near Me Information for the information leaflet regarding video consultation.

Emergencies

If you need a doctor in an emergency please telephone the surgery on 536 9898. If it is an emergency it is helpful to tell the receptionist the nature of the emergency.  Some things are more urgent than others. A doctor will then contact you, or you will be advised to contact the most appropriate service.

Telephone Advice

If you require advice from a doctor during normal surgery hours please telephone the surgery and your message will be passed to the doctors or you will be advised of another time to telephone again when the doctor should be available.

Interpretation Service

When booking an appointment, we can book an interpreter to help you if English is not your first language. The Interpretation Services Department will require your phone number in case an appointment needs to be altered.  Please tell us if you would object to this.
