Home Visits

Doctor's bag

If you feel you need a home visit and are not well enough to come to the surgery, please telephone before 10 a.m.  Generally home visits are only for those patients who are very ill, elderly or housebound.

Visits are made at the discretion of the doctor on clinical grounds. We are able to see more patients in the surgery than at home and it also offers better facilities for examination and treatment.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
