SURGERY

Due to excessive demand we are currently operating an urgent on the day service, for on the day emergencies. We also offer pre-bookable appointments for the next working day both morning and afternoons appointments/calls available. The lines open daily at 08:30 were you will have access our GP Triage Telephone System.  This will involve the Receptionist asking for details of your ailment and a contact number, the GP will then contact you on that day and if a face to face appointment is needed the GP will arrange this with you.

Whilst we are working very hard to accommodate all our patients we do understand that it will not always be possible to get an appointment on the day for everyone and we would ask for your patience and understanding.  We also operate a Zero Tolerance Policy at the surgery. Emergencies will always be accommodated.

14:00-18:00 Monday and Tuesday afternoons - APPOINTMENT ONLY

There are also clinics that run in the afternoons, by appointment only and this may vary during Flu/Covid vaccination times.

Appointments

How to see a Doctor during opening hours.

Due to excessive demand we had to make changes to our appointments system on 2nd May 2023.

If you have an urgent problem that requires you to speak to a Doctor on the day please call the surgery at 08:30 to request an on the day call,  the receptionist will ask for your details the nature of your ailment and contact details, this is to help assess the urgency of your call. Your request will then be assessed by a GP and they will call you back and if you need to be seen an appointment will be made for you to come into the surgery. Urgent cases will always be accommodated.

For all non-urgent problems you are required to call the surgery at 09:15 to book a telephone call or face to face appointment for the next working day.  Please note that due to demand these appointments are limited and once capacity has been reached you will be required to call back at 09:15 the following working day. 

For all other general enquiries please call between 10:30-12:45 and 14:00-15:00. 

We do appreciate that calls and appointments remain limited however we are striving to offer the best possible service to all our patients and we would ask that you choose the options available at the appropriate times. 

Please note that it is practice policy not to accept GP requests at reception. All requests must be made via telephone at the designated times.  Exceptions for this are patients with communication problems. 

Please cancel your appointment, even at short notice, if you are unable to attend.

Patients have a responsibility to attend on time for their appointments. 

On Wednesday afternoon a doctor is on call for emergencies only.

Telephone Advice

GP Telephone Triage System remains in place for all urgent on the day requests.  There is also non- urgent telephone calls available , these are pre-bookable daily for the next working day at 09:15 with limited capacity. 

Home Visits

Home visits are very time consuming and do not allow immediate access to diagnostic tests. Only seriously ill or house bound patients should have a home visit.

Please make every effort to come to the surgery by any means possible.

If you think a home visit is required please ring 028 90391690 before 10.00am and speak to the receptionist. Details will be taken and passed to the GP for consultation.
