When We Are Closed

NHS 24 is now responsible for providing care overnight from 18:00 to 08:00, at weekends, training days, public holidays or protected learning afternoons.

Dial 999 for loss of consciousness for more than a few minutes, possible strokes, heart attacks, severe breathing difficulties, serious accidents, fits in someone who is not known to be epileptic or fits longer than 10 minutes in epileptics.

Minor Ailments

Local chemists can give advice and treatment for many minor ailments e.g. colds, sore throats, bites, rashes etc. They can offer advice about over the counter medications to treat these conditions. Treatment will be free of charge. Remember that you can see your pharmacist for minor ailments and illnesses any time, not just when we are closed.
