Patient Group
The 2024 AGM is taking place on Tuesday 5th March at 2pm at the Health Centre
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since January 2010, Billericay Medical Practice has had a Patient Participation Group.
The Patient Group will help the practice make improvements to services to patients and work as an intermediary and liaison between patients and practice staff.
The group is non-political and is not there for individual patients to express personal complaints but is there as a way of helping to improve communication between patients and staff by assisting for example with the practice newsletter.
It is up to individuals in how much time they wish to put into the group. No training is required to be a member of the group, but it is important that members join because they are keen on helping the surgery and the local patient population.
Covid 19 Virus and PPG activity – March 2020 onwards
The Billericay Medical Practice Patient Participation Group (PPG) will be ceasing face to face and surgery based activity from March 11th for a suitable period going forward to reduce risks of Covid 19 Virus infection to our members, staff and other patients. We are almost all in high risk health categories and/or over 70, and we must try to minimise the impact of any adverse health issues for us upon the NHS health services and others we may be in close contact with.
PPG Annual General Meeting March 11th 2020
The PPG did manage to go ahead with our AGM on March 11th 2020. All the committee were re-elected, and a most interesting Talk on Domestic Abuse – Understanding the Impact was delivered by Lucy Whittaker of Alpha Vesta a local Community Interest Company. More detailed reports will be online here and in the next PPG Newsletter.
