Repeat Prescriptions

If the doctor has commenced you on a repeat medication, details of this will appear on your re-order form (the right hand section of the prescription). This will enable you to obtain your regular medications without having to see the doctor each time. Please be aware that some regular medications may not be added to your repeat list in order to allow the doctor to monitor their use more closely (typically controlled drugs, contraceptives and anti-depressants). The doctors also review your medication list periodically and this may result in an invite to discuss your medications with one of the GPs, nurses or practice pharmacist.

Repeat prescriptions can only be requested in writing, either by indicating the items required on the re-order form, or by listing the items required on the form provided at the practice. This can then be submitted to the surgery in person, by post or by fax.

For reasons of accuracy and confidentiality we will not accept any requests for repeat medications by phone.

We would ask you not to arrange a GP appointment to order repeat medications, unless you need to discuss the medication(s) you are on.

Please note we require a minimum of 48 hours notice.

Collections

Prescriptions can be collected from the surgery or can be sent directly to one of the local pharmacies, where you can collect the medication. You should allow an extra 24 hours if you are collecting your medication directly from the pharmacy. If you wish your prescription to be posted to you, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope and allow at least 5 working days.

Please remember to order the items you require in good time and that this service is only for items that appear on your re-order form.

It can sometimes be challenging sourcing medication from a local pharmacy for a variety of reasons.  Sometimes, stock may be low or there may be a manufacturing issue with certain medication.  To assist patients further, patients can click HERE to check if any other pharmacies have stock of their medication.

Please note, although we provide the above link for patient use, we do not endorse the use of any pharmacy and patients are welcome to use any pharmacy.  The above link is provided as an additional means to assist patients seeking medication which may be out of stock at their local pharmacy.

To Register - Bring a form of photo ID (eg passport/drivers licence) and a personal email address with you to the surgery and a member of the admin team will set up the registration process.

Prescription requests for sedation for dental appointments

GPs should not be contacted regarding sedation requests prior to seeing a Dentist. If a Dentist feels you as their patient requires sedation, then they will prescribe the appropriate medication for you.
