When the surgery is closed
We are part of Western Urgent Care - a group of all local doctors providing out-of-hours service. Western Urgent Care operates from Strabane Health Centre, Upper Main Street, Strabane
It will deal with URGENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR EMERGENCIES outside normal surgery hours - i.e. from 6.00pm to 8.30am Monday to Friday and 24 hours Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Patients should phone (028) 71865195 or the usual surgery number. There will be a recorded message giving information about medical care out of hours and the phone number of the new service.
Depending on the seriousness of the condition the doctor may:
- Give advice over the phone.
- Ask the patient to attend Strabane Health Centre.
- Send an ambulance, either the usual ambulance or the cardiac ambulance.
- Advise attendance at Casualty
- Arrange a home visit.
WESTERN URGENT CARE IS NOT A DROP-IN CENTRE
For reasons of security and good service, please phone first to discuss with the doctor if you need to attend and if so, to arrange an appointment.
You can enter by the back gate – in Barrack Street – this is signposted. For everyone’s safety there are security gates and video cameras at this entrance.
