Research Practice
This Practice is a research site. As a practice team we believe this is an important aspect of the care we offer for our patients.
Delivering a well-designed clinical study can not only generate vital new knowledge, it can also have widespread benefits for patients, both now and in the future.
By investigating the cause and course of diseases or health problems and how best to treat them we can increase our knowledge and understanding for the benefit of all our patients.
At the same time we’re also helping to establish “what works”, and build the body of evidence that can lead to a positive change in future care.
What’s more, being involved in research offers an opportunity to stay up-to-date on the very latest treatments and interventions.
So by joining the research community we are actively helping to drive up the standard of healthcare for our patients.
Some studies happen at local hospitals while some happen within the practice.
Patients who have taken part speak of the opportunity to help others in the future, and sometimes benefits to themselves are extra tests which have been carried out as part of the study which they may not have access to otherwise.
Patient costs should be paid, so no one is out of pocket.
As a patient if you are invited by us to take part in research you are under no obligation to do so.
