NHS Digital Data Sharing Opt out

We would like to reassure our patients that the proposed extraction of GP data by NHS Digital does not include any patients registered with this practice or in NHS Scotland. NHS Digital provide services in England so are not able to access any data held in Scotland. You are not required to opt out as your data is already safe. We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and safeguards are in place to protect this, including when data is used for research. Charity Fundraising Challenges

March 2021 - Easter Hat Competition - staff made Easter Bonnets and paid a donation to take part. We raised £206 for Social Bite. 

December 2021 - Christmas Card Competition - the staff put their artistic talents to good use and designed a Christmas card,the cards were judged and the winner received a small Hamper of Biscuits. There was a £1 entry fee and along with other donations we raised £56 for The Food Bank.

December 2021 - We held our yearly Christmas raffle in aid of The Salvation Army and raised £200. The winner received a large hamper of goodies. 

Feb 2022 - We raised £116.00 for Motor Neurone Disease, involving all staff in the building walking a certain distance and paying £1.00 to take part.

June 2022 - Platinum Jubilee Raffle. We raised £127.00 for Alzheimers Scotland. Prizes donated by Polwarth staff.

August 2022 - Raffle raised £117.50 for Food, Facts, Fiends. Penicuik Prizes donated by Polwarth staff.

Sept 2022 - We held a Summer Fayre at lunchtime for staff. Old fashioned games and a tombola. Raised £100.10 for Steps to Hope.  

Oct 2022 - Our porter - Ross, organised a competition for all staff -How many sweeties in the jar. He raised £110.20 for Marie Curie

Dec 2022 - We held a Christmas Raffle in aid of The Salvation Army and raised £188.

March 2023- An Easter Fayre was held at lunchtime for all staff. £130.00 was raised for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution

May 2023 - We held a raffle with the bits and pieces left over from our Easter Fayre and raised £100.11 for Guide Dogs    

September 2023 - a September Fayre was held for all staff at lunchtime, home baking, raffle, silly games etc. The money we raised was split between 2 charities -  £155 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf people and £155 for Dementia UK.

March 2024 - Raffle was held - £123.00 was raised for Breast Friends and family.

June2024 - Lunchtime walk around the outside of the building for all staff. Staff gave a donation to take part and we raised £247.00 for Cohonas Scotland (Testicular cancer charity)

All prizes for these events are donated by staff members.     

 

PLT (Protected Learning Time)

All practices in Lothian close from 12.30pm for protected learning time on certain dates. NHS 24 provide cover on these afternoons for any patients who require urgent treatment or advice. The telephone number for NHS 24 is 111.

We will be closed from 12.30pm on the following protected learning dates this year - 

2024 dates still to be arranged.
