Description

The Lorn Medical Centre is a semi rural, 11,500 patient list Practice, with a well established team of GP’s, who have developed to provide focused and holistic care to our community. The Practice ethos is to develop and use the skills of the individual and to encourage education and personal development, in order to enhance the delivery of health care. We are a successful and established Training Practice, annually attracting GPs in training and have regular nursing and medical students in placements.

We are looking for a GP to join our team to help develop models of care that will deliver high quality health care beyond 2025. Maybe you are an experienced GP who is looking to take the next step and move into Partnership? Or perhaps you are a newly qualified GP who is looking to put down roots for the longer term? Maybe you are just bored with the humdrum of your current Practice and fancy the opportunity of living and working on the beautiful west coast of Scotland?

The Lorn Medical Centre is the only practice in Oban, serving the town and surrounding communities. It is a model of a semi-rural practice and also provides care to the large number of tourists who visit Oban and the surrounding area each year. The Lorn & Islands Hospital, based in Oban, has Medical and Surgical beds and outreach clinics from specialties mainly associated with Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board.

The Partnership also runs the Mull and Iona General Practice services from 3 sites including a small community hospital . Applicants can choose to spend time delivering care in that setting on a rotational basis if interested.
