Repeat Prescriptions
Please allow at least 1 weeks (working week) due to COVID notice (working hours NOT WEEKENDS) for ordering repeat medication. Please see below for further details.
Orders for repeat prescriptions can be placed in a number of ways
- By email - please be advised we only open emails once a day, Your prescription will be ready to collect from the practice after 1 weeks notice (working days, NOT WEEKENDS). However if your prescription goes to any local pharmacy or our Practice dispensary you must allow 1 weeks notice (working hours as often your medication will have to be ordered.
- Please note we only open emails once a day therefore 1 weeks notice begins from the time we open your email not the time you sent it. Please do not leave messages with your repeat request as we are unable to reply to individual email messages. If you wish to ask us a question about your repeat request please telephone the practice.
- online – You will need to complete a form to register for online ordering at reception and you will need to provide 2 forms of identification. Alternatively you can download the NHS app, and register for online services via the app. Please make sure it is the NHS app you have downloaded not a online pharmacy app.
- In person – bring your repeat slip to reception having clearly marked the required items.
- By post
Requests will not be accepted by phone unless you are housebound.
Please do not expect repeat prescriptions to be dispensed while you wait as they have to be checked and signed by the doctor. When the practice is closed please phone 111 for advice on obtaining urgent medication.
Dispensing
We are able to dispense medication to any patient who lives more than one mile from any dispensing pharmacy outlet. Government regulations prevent us from offering this service to all patients. During the COVID 19 crisis , we will be delivering medications to our dispensing patients if they qualify under the 'shielding' government arrangements.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two/three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
