Repeat Prescriptions
If you need regular prescriptions and your doctor does not need to see you every time – Your doctor will authorise a repeat prescription. Please retain the printed sheet attached to your last prescription. This will show the drugs you are taking and the total number that will be issued before your treatment needs to be reviewed.
Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made by telephone, online via the above link, in writing or by calling at the surgery where you are registered.
When telephoning please try to have your most recent printed sheet to hand. Please allow two complete working days before collection. Where possible give the exact drug name as written on your sheet when ordering.
The 3 prescription line telephone numbers are:
- Darley Dale - 01629 733205
- Winster - 01629 650207
- Youlgrave - 01629 636207

Obtaining Medicines Urgently
In emergency only: should you run out of your medication and the surgery is closed please ring your normal surgery telephone number. Your call will be transferred to the “Out of Hours Service” and you will be advised how you can obtain an emergency supply of medication.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
*** When requesting your repeat prescription online, if you receive a message asking you to schedule a medication review, please phone the surgery to request your repeat prescription. The Reception Team will process your prescription request and if appropriate arrange for a GP to complete an non-appointment based medication review ***

Repeat Prescriptions for Warfarin
With immediate effect the repeat prescription process for patients prescribed Warfarin has changed:
- In-between each prescription request an in-house medication review will take place to ensure that you have had an INR check within the appropriate period and that your medical records are updated with the results.
- A prescription cannot be processed without a satisfactory medication review taking place.
- You can continue to request your prescriptions in the usual way.
The changes are in-line with CQC requirements to ensure maximum patient safety.
