Appointments
We provide a full range of GP consultations for general medical problems, acute issues, and chronic medical conditions (e.g. diabetes, heart disease).
Please phone the surgery between 09:00 and 12:00 and 14:30 and 17:00 (16:00 on Fridays) to make an appointment to see one of our doctors. Usually you will be seen that day or the next working day. There is always one of our GPs available to deal with urgent cases.
When making your appointment, please give the receptionist a brief description of your problem so that she can suggest the most appropriate person for you to see and how long your appointment should be.
To Speak To Your doctor
We try not to interrupt consultations as it can be upsetting for both GP and patients. If you need to speak to the doctor, please leave a message and a doctor will return your call
Practice Nurses
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
Delays At The Surgery
We try to keep to schedule, but unfortunately some problems take longer than others; we ask you to please be patient. To reduce waiting times please book extra time for smears, travel vaccines, full medicals for work, college or insurance companies.
If you have a number of issues to be dealt with, we may not be able to deal with everything in a 15-minute consultation, so a follow-up appointment may be necessary.
Receipts For Income Tax Relief
You will be issued with a receipt at each visit; please keep it safe. If required, copies can only be backdated for one tax year.
We can supply you with MC1 & MC2 forms to claim illness benefits. Please have your PPS number with you if your require these forms. If you are unsure of your entitlements you can contact Citizens Information on 01 867 4301 or visit http://www.northsidecic.ie/
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
