To all our patients at Carse Medical Practice,

You may have received a letter from the Health Board informing you that the future of Carse Medical Practice is currently uncertain.  We understand that this is likely to cause significant anxiety for many of you, and we are very sorry for this.

As many of you are aware, Scotland has for some time been facing an unprecedented and escalating shortage of GP's.  Over the past year we have tried every possible avenue to recruit new GP's to replace those that wish to retire.  Unfortunately, we have not been successful.  We have had to make the very difficult and upsetting decision to give the Health Board notice that we will be unable to continue providing services as from mid-September 2025.

We would like to reassure you that we are continuing to work to find a solution to this situation and are doing so both independently and in conjunction with the Health Board.  More than anything we want to be able to secure the future of Carse Medical Practice for all of our patients.

We would ask that you are patient with us.  At the moment we don't have any further information to be able to share with you.  The Health Board will provide you with further information when our situation becomes clearer. If you have any concerns please contact Primary Care Services on 01382 424176 not the practice

As you will appreciate, this has, and continues to be a very difficult time for all of our team.  Whilst dealing with this situation, we are also trying to continue to provide the best service possible for our patients.  We would very much appreciate if you could refrain from asking staff or clinicians for advice or information about the current situation.  Our time is limited and we feel that this is best used by providing clinical care.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
