Pharmacy
There are a number of pharmacies within our practice area. You are free to take your prescription to any pharmacy in Scotland. Your local pharmacy may also be able to help you with minor ailments and the Pharmacy First Service.
Repeat Prescriptions
To order a prescription please tick the box next to each item required on the re-order form that is supplied along with your prescription. If the item is not on this list then please add to this slip or alternatively make a request in writing. Slips and written requests should be posted in the “Repeat Prescriptions” box at the reception desk.
Repeat prescriptions are those drugs that appear on the list of medicines on the right hand side of your last prescription. Any drug not on this list can be requested but may take longer or may be refused if the doctor feels he cannot safely prescribe from details within your medical record.
Alternatively you can follow the link on this page to the secure online form. You will need to carry out the simple, one-off registration. Please note you can now use Patient Access to request prescriptions as we will be phasing out the main website method. To register for Patient Access please contact Reception. Please note online requests posted over the weekend will not be processed until the next working day.
Repeat requests will be ready after 3 working days or 4 days if it goes to a chemist. Requests are checked thoroughly and may be denied if made too early. Prescription requests made 10 days or more early are unlikely to be granted unless a reason is given i.e. if you need medication sooner for example due to holiday then please let us know. You may be asked to attend the surgery on occasions for a review of your medication. Please be aware 'repeat prescriptions' may be ready sooner than 'extras' so please check when you pick up that you have everything.
